Senior Tips
ere are some tips to make your portrait session a success.
1. Wear solid colors, avoid patterns. Avoid clothing with logos and designs that will distract from the focus of the pictures.
2. The latest fashions are fine, but if you try to be too trendy your images will soon look dated. Just look at a magazine that is over five years old and you will see just how quickly the latest rage becomes the embarrassment of everyone who wore it. Think simple, think classic.
3. Wear what you like, that is consistent with your personality and style. You want photos of yourself, not you posing as someone else. Use colors and styles that are flattering to you and your body type. Ask friends for advise if you don’t know what looks best on you.
4. Bring a variety of outfits. Bring more than you could possibly fit into one portrait session. You can make your final choice of outfits at the session, with the advise of the photographer. You may want to include a uniform from a school activity, some casual looks and a more dressy look for your mom.
5. Our portrait sessions tend to be active and filled with movement. Therefore comfort and ease of movement are important. Bring your running shoes. Dress appropriate for the weather for outdoor sessions. Jeans are a great choice, as well as leather jackets.
6. Make-up should look natural. For photos, do your make-up as usual and add just a little more contrast. Powder is essential to avoid shiny foreheads and cheeks. Bring your make-up to the portrait session in case you need to freshen or change your coloring for a certain outfit.
